Unicorn Realty unveils unique tenant referral program

NORWELL, MA, ISSUED APRIL 22, 2010 - Unicorn Realty, one of the region's leading commercial real estate development, management and brokerage firms, recently awarded one of their commercial tenants a check for $1,000 as part of the company's ongoing referral fee program.

Odette Miller, owner of Creative Energy in Hanover, a hair salon located at 1810 Washington Street in Hanover, is a tenant at property owned and managed by Unicorn Realty. She recently earned a referral fee for sending a prospective tenant to Unicorn Realty.

The program was devised by Unicorn management as a "value-add" and is part of a number of initiatives that the firm does to show value to its tenants, said Brian Murphy, a principal at Unicorn Realty. "The tenant referral service has been very popular among our tenants," he said. "We know that tenants who believe they have good quality real estate at fair prices are often inclined to refer tenants to us anyway, but we believe that it is one more way to show value and appreciation for the people who lease the property that we own and manage."

In addition to the tenant referral program, Unicorn also provides ongoing seminars on business related topics for their tenants in properties from Weymouth to Plymouth.

Denece Clinton, a broker who handles leasing and brokerage at Unicorn Realty, said, "We received a really nice letter from Odette thanking us for this check, which she said comes at a good time. We have enjoyed our professional relationship with Odette and look forward to continuing to do so, and we are delighted that she has enough confidence in Unicorn Realty to refer her fellow business owners in need of commercial space."

Every tenant who refers a potential additional tenant to Unicorn is entered in a drawing, and each quarter a name is drawn. Regardless of whether the referral results in a new tenant for the company, one person is chosen for a $500 check. When a new tenant signs with Unicorn as a result of a referral, the referring tenant receives $1,000.
